Who can attend ?

Cardiac rehabilitation is an option for people of all ages and with many forms of heart disease. In particular, you may benefit from cardiac rehabilitation if your medical history includes:

  • Heart attack
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart failure
  • Peripheral arterial disease
  • Chest pain (angina)
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Certain congenital heart diseases
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Angioplasty and stents
  • Heart transplant
  • Heart valve replacements

If you have any of the risk factors associated with heart disease; high blood pressure, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, obese, smoker or a history of smoking,

How do I sign up?

You need to make contact with us, through the website, email or phone. We will then ensure your referral form is completed by a medical practitioner or phase 3 instructor.

What do you do in the class?

Initially, you will have a short assessment and you can then commence an exercise program. The hour long class involves a 15 minute warm up then a 35 minute circuit program and a 10 minute cool down with stretching.

What do I need to bring?

You need to wear a track suit or comfortable leisurewear, and running shoes. You’ll also need to bring a towel and a bottle of water.

How often do I need to attend?

You can attend as often or as little as you like. However, the more often you attend the better you will feel.

How much do the classes cost?

Classes in Island bridge are pay as you go, so you don’t have to commit to any large subscriptions.

Can I get personal training in Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Yes, we offer gym and home personal training program to clients. Personal training in cardiac rehabilitation is €70 a session or €300 for 5 sessions.

Can my partner attend?

Yes, we welcome partners or close friends of clients with heart disease. We find this encourages people to attend more often.

Am I too old or too young to attend?

No, we have people as young as 34 and our eldest client to date is 86 years old ( who has taken up skipping since he started with us)
